Paper overview

Future Research

Future empirical research should examine whether organizations with more explicit context, criteria, evidence, confidence, traceability, and assessment history make more defensible governance decisions. A second stream should study how assessment histories support learning, boundary revision, and criteria refinement over time. A third stream should examine AI-assisted assessment, especially how machine-generated summaries, comparisons, and anomaly detections can remain reviewable and contestable. A fourth stream should connect assessment to measurement while preserving the distinction between warranted judgment and operationalized indicators. A fifth stream should study high-stakes settings where degraded correspondence among representations creates governance, safety, compliance, or adaptation risks.
