Limitations and Future Research

This paper is conceptual. It does not empirically validate the OKK construct, test the propositions, or provide finalized measurement instruments. Candidate indicators are illustrative and require later construct validation.

The theory faces a risk of over-integration. Because OKK connects knowledge, memory, state, representation, projection, governance, authority, execution, evidence, and learning, future work must preserve its boundary conditions. The kernel should explain governed knowledge continuity, not all cognition, all learning, all governance, or all technology use.

The model also faces a tacit-knowledge limitation. Not all organizational knowledge can be fully represented. Empirical research must therefore combine artifacts, interviews, observation, and process evidence rather than relying only on digital traces.

Future research should examine memory-state separation, projection fidelity, authority qualification in AI-assisted decisions, evidence-to-learning conversion, correspondence preservation, and rival explanations across organizations with different governance maturity, AI participation intensity, representational plurality, industry context, and knowledge tacitness.
